The foundation works to enhance the capacity of civil society organizations in conducting advocacy, campaigns, and communication, while encouraging stakeholder engagement to ensure sustainable resource management based on the values of transparency, conservation, and equity. Marine Conservation Officer
Nautika Foundation – Alor, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia
Nautika Foundation is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Marine Conservation Officer, working directly on community-based marine conservation initiatives in Alor.
In this role, you will be actively involved in field-based conservation work, supporting efforts to protect and rehabilitate coastal ecosystems while strengthening community participation in sustainable marine resource management.
This position requires not only technical skills, but also the ability to engage with local communities, understand field realities, and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

Support the implementation of marine conservation activities in the field

Conduct ecological monitoring and field data collection
-
Manage and process monitoring data
-
Prepare structured activity reports
-
Engage with and support coastal communities in program activities
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Marine Science, Fisheries, Biology, or related field
-
Basic understanding of coastal and marine ecosystems
-
SCUBA certification required, Advanced Open Water is an advantage
-
Experience or strong interest in community-based conservation
-
Willing and able to work in field conditions, including marine environments
-
Familiar or willing to learn ecological monitoring methods
-
Able to manage activities from planning, implementation, data processing, to reporting
-
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team

Willing to be based in Alor, candidates from East Nusa Tenggara are preferred
