Strengthening Marine Protection: New Patrol Boat Deployed to Safeguard Alor's Coral Reefs

We're pleased to announce the deployment of a Marine Patrol Navy Boat in the Alor Islands Marine Park, with support from @taman_perairan_kepulauan_alor and the dive operators committed to protecting and preserving this beautiful marine environment. 🪸
These efforts will go towards monitoring and safeguarding these waters from destructive fishing methods and unsustainable practices, ensuring that Alor remains one of the best-preserved reefs and marine biodiversity hotspots in the Coral Triangle.
This Marine Patrol system has been made possible thanks to the support of the Maumere Naval Base Commander and the Alor Naval Post Commander, in collaboration with the Community Surveillance Group (Pokmaswas), the NTT Regional Technical Implementing Unit (UPTD), and the Alor Regency Government. We're grateful to the many dive operators who have stepped up to support this initiative by contributing to fuel costs :
Beyond the patrols, we are also planning social and educational programs to help eliminate harmful practices and promote eco-friendly income alternatives for local communities. We're working closer than ever to safeguard this beautiful archipelago for future generations. 💙
